UniMate
Cookie Policy
UniMate (unimate.club) uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the platform working, to remember your choices, and to understand how the service is used so we can improve it. This Cookie Policy explains what these technologies are, which ones we use, and how you can control them.
It applies to unimate.club and related services, and should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember things about your visit — such as keeping you signed in or remembering your preferences — and help the site function and improve. We also use similar technologies such as local storage and pixels; in this policy we refer to all of them as “cookies”.
2. Why we use cookies
- To run the platform securely and keep you signed in.
- To remember your settings and choices.
- To understand how visitors use UniMate so we can make it better.
- To protect against fraud and misuse.
3. The types of cookies we use
| Category | What it does | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Essential for the site to work — sign-in and session management, security, and remembering your cookie choices. These cannot be switched off in our systems. | Session to 12 months |
| Preferences / functional | Remember choices you make, such as language or display settings, to give you a smoother experience. | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics / performance | Help us understand how visitors find and use UniMate (e.g. pages viewed, time on site) so we can improve it. This data is used in aggregate. | Up to 24 months |
| Marketing | We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first. | — |
4. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by trusted third parties that help us operate and improve the platform — for example, our analytics provider [e.g. Google Analytics — confirm the tool you use], secure hosting, and our payment processor when you pay the activation fee. These providers process information under their own privacy and cookie policies, and only on our instructions.
5. How long cookies stay on your device
Cookies are either session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain for a set period or until you delete them. The approximate durations are shown in the table above.
6. Your choices and how to manage cookies
You are in control of cookies. You can:
- Use our cookie banner to accept or reject non-essential cookies, and change your choice at any time.
- Adjust or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or remove cookies and warn you before they are set.
- Opt out of analytics tracking using tools provided by the relevant analytics provider.
Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of UniMate from working properly.
Helpful browser guides: Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge each provide instructions for managing cookies in their support pages.
7. Your consent
Where required by law, we set non-essential cookies (such as analytics) only after you have given consent through our cookie banner. Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the site cannot function without them. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time via the banner or your browser settings.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as our service or the technologies we use change. We will post the revised version here with a new “Last updated” date.
9. Contact us
